It’s been 2 years since the pandemic started and our reliance on virtual means of communication – video calls, conference calls, emails, texts and chats went up exponentially.

You would have thought that by now we would all be experts at communicating online. And in many aspects we are.

And yet, we could do and be even better.

Human beings rely on body language to connect and build trust but with most of our communication happening from behind the lens of a camera. Traditional body language signals are no longer visible. This is OK when we are dealing with people that we already have a working relationship with…..not so easy with those that we are meeting for the first time, and if it’s online.

New signals and cues have replaced traditional body language across genders, generations and culture.
