#Trust is NEVER instant. Not between people, not between teams and not even between family members.
What is the first step? The one that can be instant?
A willingness to trust.
Last month Roshini and Meenakshi were given the opportunity to speak at the Asia Professional Speakers Singapore monthly meeting – to share what was the secret to 10 years of successful partnership.
They started with a willingness to trust. They are not the best of friends but they liked each other and had similar values. AND they are willing to trust each other.
And over those 10 years Trust has been built. Every conflict that they’ve resolved added to it. Every challenge. Every time they decided something for the business together.
Does it need 10 years? Not at all.
It needs daily acts of that SHOW trust, even if they are uncomfortable.
? Including saying ‘I know you had a positive intent, share with me your thinking behind this…’ when things go wrong.
? Including saying ‘I made a mistake … I’m sorry’
? Including saying ‘I disagree with you on this, but I’m OK to give it a try…’
Thanks Brené Brown for articulating it so beautifully.
What ACTION shows trust for you?
