What??! 6 to 7 hours of my waking hour I am not quite conscious? I am on auto-pilot?
I had done the math and was reacting to a piece of data DUKE University researches had found out about HABITS. Check the Video out to find out more.
By it’s very nature, function and role in our lives we do not really give HABITS much thought. That’s the job description of habits you see – to be super efficient and well-oiled which helps the brain save on some “thinking time” so that it can use that “thinking” elsewhere.
So habits have a super positive role to play in our lives. It’s just that too many of us and too many teams have developed poor habits that do not always support….and can sometimes sabotage our goals, our relationships and the results that we get.
So how are habits formed? How do you get to change habits? How long does it take? What sort of habits should I be forming?
These are some of the questions I answered with my talk on “Getting Conscious about our Unconscious Habits”. The video is a snippet from that talk.
(Incidentally creating positive habits to BUILD HAPPINESS is a major part of the work we do with #TheOrangeFrog workshop.)
How many of you feel that you go through your day-to-day life on auto-pilot?
Well some clever folks at Duke University have done the research and our Roshini Ganesan, Communication Skills Training Consultant Ganesan has done the math and she claims that for her that means 6 to 7 hours of her time is in an “unconscious” state!
So what do we need to get conscious about? This video is an excerpt from a TALK Rosh shared on “Consciously Creating Positive Habits”.
