Positivity is a choice, It’s a conscious choice.
It is only natural that when we find ourselves in negative circumstances, our brains automatically goes “negative”. We focus on all the “bad things” happening. Which is fine – if for a while. Leaving this focus unchecked though, can be unhealthy.
So consciously choose to hit the PAUSE ⏸️ button. Give yourself time to RETHINK. And move into a more positive space. Question we get asked is “How can we do this” ❓
Here are practices that you can use to RESET with three HOW TOs:
☑️Create opportunities for people connections
▪️Organise time for Conversations with people: on zoom, having coffee meetups, or even doing little acts of kindness to strangers.
☑️Check-in On Your Emotional State
▪️They say that when our emotions are high, our intelligence is low. This is true when emotions intensify and we lose control – so check in twice a day and see where you are at emotionally. A light irritation? A mild anxiety? Ask yourself where that is coming from before the emotion intensifies and has you reacting vs responding.
☑️Practice Gratitude
▪️Have a gratitude journal to write three things you are grateful for – every day! Don’t like the idea of physical journals? There are plenty of apps to choose from and have on your device.
▪️Gratitude can also be expressed – choose one person to write to and let them know what you want to acknowledge or appreciate them for. Perhaps it is something they did or said. Or something you noticed about them that impacted you or your team in some way.
